Never forget this day. We must never forget the events of this day, ten years ago when a horrific, cowardly attack on OUR country took place. NEVER FORGET 9/11/01.
DYSON WINS 3RD KLM OPEN
England’s Simon Dyson won the KLM Open for the third time in six years, shooting a 4-under 66 on Sunday for a one-stroke victory over countryman David Lynn.
Dyson, two shots behind leaders Gary Orr and James Kingston entering the round, birdied four of the last seven holes to finish at 12-under 268. Lynn closed with a 68.
Dyson joined Seve Ballesteros and Bernhard Langer as three-time winners in the national champioship.
U.S. Open champion Rory McIlroy was third at 10 under.
Dyson also won the Irish Open in July. He has six career European Tour victories.
TSENG WINS AGAIN
Top-ranked Yani Tseng successfully defended her title in the LPGA Tour's NW Arkansas Championship on Sunday, beating Amy Yang with a 4-foot birdie putt on the first hole of a playoff.
Yang missed a 6-foot birdie try before Tseng holed the winning putt on the par-5 18th.
Both players closed with 3-under 68s to finish at 12-under 201 on the Pinnacle Country Club course.
Yang parred the final 11 holes of regulation, holing a 4½-foot putt on the 18th to force the playoff.
Tseng bogeyed the par-4 13th to drop to 10 under, then rallied with birdies on the par-5 14th and par-4 16th holing an 8-foot putt to tie Yang.
On the 18th in regulation, Yang aggressively went for green in two shots, but hit her approach shot way left of the greenside grandstands before chipping on and saving par. Tseng reached the green in three shots and had a chance to win, but missed a 4-foot birdie putt.
The 22-year-old Tseng leads the tour with five victories this season, including major wins in the LPGA Championship and Women's British Open, and also has won three other events this year. She also succesfully defended her title in the Women's British Open.
Ai Miyazato was third at 11 under. Cristie Kerr was another stroke back.
Sandra Gal had the best round of the day, a 64 that left her tied for fifth with Amy Hung and Belen Mozo at 9 under. The German star had nine birdies, including five in her first nine holes, and two bogeys.
Paula Creamer, the world's No. 9 player, had a 69 to eighth with hometown favorite Stacy Lewis at 8 under. Creamer had five birdies in her first nine holes and was a stroke behind Yang through 10 holes, but dropped back with a bogey on the par-4 12th. After Creamer three-putted from 10 feet, she tossed her ball in a pond in frustration.

BRITAIN & IRELAND REGAIN WALKER CUP
Britain & Ireland regained the Walker Cup from the United States for the first time since 2003 on Sunday, holding off the Americans in the afternoon singles for a 14-12 victory.
The hosts needed 13 1/2 points to win the title and took an insurmountable lead after 17-year-old Welshman Rhys Pugh won his singles match against U.S. Amateur champion Kelly Kraft 2 and 1 and Steven Brown halved with Blayne Barber.
Paul Cutler than halved with American Patrick Cantlay in the final match of the biennial event between leading amateur players.
IN OTHER NEWS
Britain & Ireland will be without four of the world’s top-20 players when the team launches the defense of its Vivendi Seve Trophy title against Continental Europe in Paris next week.
Captain Paul McGinley included No. 2-ranked Lee Westwood and British Open champion Darren Clarke in the reigning champions’ lineup on Tuesday, but top-ranked Luke Donald as well as U.S Open champion Rory McIlroy, Graeme McDowell and Paul Casey turned down opportunities to play in the biennial match.
Englishmen Ian Poulter and Ross Fisher, who were part of Europe’s 2010 Ryder Cup-winning team, were also named in Britain & Ireland’s team.
Jean van der Velde’s Continental Europe side included Denmark’s Thomas Bjorn, a back-to-back winner on the European Tour over the last fortnight, and Italy’s Matteo Manassero, who at 18 years and 152 days becomes the youngest player in the tournament’s history.
The four-day Ryder Cup-style tournament is held from Sept. 15-18.
Former top-ranked golfer Lorena Ochoa is six months pregnant and expecting a baby boy in early December. She seems content spending more time at home after retiring in 2010 while at the top of the sport.
Her departure left something of a power vacuum on the LPGA Tour, but life is going smoothly for the 29-year-old Ochoa. She says she has no intention of making a comeback.
Ochoa won 30 tournaments and two majors and was ranked No. 1 from 2007 to 2010—a spot she held when she retired at 28. In December 2009, she married Aeromexico executive Andres Conesa, who has three children from a previous marriage.
